In the two featured Main Events, both for the San Manuel Championship Belt, 42 year old Lionel Butler looked like a 32 year old, as he showed quickness and ring savvy in winning a split decision over previously undefeated 12-0 Fred Fassi. Butler, who was back in the ring after a six year absence, hardly showed any rustiness as he completely beat Kassi to the punch. In winning his first belt in his 20 year career, Butler improves to 32-15, and will certainly fight again.

The second Main Event featured two top ranked females, and it proved to be another great match up for the other San Manuel Championship Belt, so good in fact that neither girl won it! After six hard fought rounds Rhonda Luna and Gloria Raminez had to settle for a majority draw. Ramirez showed power throughout, but Luna was the busier fighter. One judge had Ramirez winning 58-57, but the other two had it even at 57-56.

Promoter Roy Englebrecht announced that he will try to rematch Luna and Ramirez at his December 17th Battle In The Ballroom show, with the San Manuel Belt going to the winner,

The undercard saw 6-7 Lionel David go to 3-0 with a 2:58 first round stoppage over Sal Farnetti. Farnetti had been in a minor auto accident earlier in the day and was not himself. In two action packed four rounders, Carlos Luque of Tucson scored his first pro win with a UD over Frank Gutierrez, 4-1 Artemio Reyes got off the canvas after a first round knockdown to stop Lester Balmores in the third round, and heavyweight William Willams went to 2-1 with a seond round TKO over Chico's Jesus Hernandez.
